Barlow C of E Primary School follows the North Yorkshire County Council policy for admitting children to school and our 2018/19 Admissions policy can be found here.

Children are admitted to school at the beginning of the academic year in which they turn 5 years old. Children who have their fifth birthday between 1st September and 31st August in any year may commence school full time at the beginning of the Autumn term. However, as an option, parents of children who have their fifth birthdays between 1st March and 31st August may wish them to commence school for mornings only during the Autumn Term, moving to full time at the beginning of January in the Spring term.
As part of our admissions procedure, records from pre-school providers are passed on to us and contact with providers made. All new entrants, including those who transfer mid-academic year, have the opportunity to visit the school and take part in induction days before starting full-time. Our Class 1 Teacher will make contact with pre-school settings in the summer term before our new intake start full-time school.
Applications to transfer to our school during the academic year can be completed on line by clicking here.
